Working in comms, you frequently get to read insightful articles and comments before they are (with any luck) published in the press. We recently landed an interesting viewpoint in TechRound written by my colleague Jeff Watkins, xDesign’s Chief Product and Technology Officer, that asks the question: when could superhuman AI begin to surpass human intelligence?

In the article, Jeff discusses explores the evolution of machines – from simple calculators to advanced AI systems. He spotlights AlphaZero, a chess program that has revolutionised the way we think about AI in strategic games. Unlike its predecessors, AlphaZero taught itself chess through self-play, discovering strategies without preloaded knowledge of the game to perform moves that, while initially appearing unconventional, proved to be unnervingly effective.

Give it a read here.
